Image Tools: Compress, Crop, Resize, Convert & Watermark

Optimize images, compress to a target size, crop and resize, convert formats, or add text and logo watermarks to JPEG, PNG, and WebP images. Prepare photos, avatars, and screenshots locally in your browser.

Choose an image workflow for your task

Start with the destination: the dimensions it needs, the formats it accepts, and whether the image needs a transparent background. A smaller file is useful only if the result still looks right and works where you plan to use it.

Use an image compressor to reduce file size, an image converter to change formats, or an image optimizer to combine compression, resizing, and format choices. Our Image Optimizer supports all three workflows for JPEG, PNG, and WebP. Use the scenarios below to decide which settings to change.

Settings for common image tasks

Crop an avatar, cover, or screenshot →

Choose a square, circle, or wide crop, then position the selection around the content you want to keep. Rotate or flip the image if needed and download the cropped result.

Prepare a photo for a website →

Resize to the dimensions your layout needs, then compare JPEG and WebP at a moderate quality setting. Inspect fine textures and gradients before lowering quality further. Keep the version that balances appearance and file size.

Keep screenshot text readable →

Start with PNG at the original dimensions and try Lossless mode. If the file is still too large, compare Smart mode and inspect small text, thin lines, and flat colors for visible changes.

Preserve a transparent background →

Choose PNG or WebP for transparent graphics. JPEG cannot retain transparency; when converting to JPEG, choose a background color that matches the destination.

Work toward an upload size limit →

Set a limit such as 100KB or 200KB and compress automatically. Keep original dimensions first, or allow resizing if necessary. Preview the result before downloading.
