Meet upload limits in three steps

Choose a target for the destination

These are examples, not universal recommendations. Always use the actual maximum shown by the destination service.
How the target-size search works
For JPEG and WebP, the compressor searches quality levels while keeping the original dimensions. For PNG, Lossless mode preserves colors at the selected dimensions; Smart mode may reduce the palette to save more bytes. If quality or encoding alone cannot meet the limit, the tool stops unless you explicitly allow smaller dimensions.
A successful result is at or below the limit, not padded to exactly that number. An already compliant original may be preserved when re-encoding would not help. Keep your source file: compression, resizing, format conversion, and metadata removal can make the download different from the original.

Does compression reduce image quality?
JPEG and WebP compression can remove detail. The tool searches for a quality setting that fits your limit, keeping the original dimensions first. Compare the preview before downloading. It cannot promise lossless compression to any size.
What happens if the target is too small?
The tool asks you to increase the target or allow smaller dimensions. Resizing is off by default. If enabled, it reduces dimensions only when quality adjustment cannot reach the target.
Can I compress PNG images?
Yes. Output defaults to WebP, which supports transparency. Select PNG output for lossless PNG compression. You can allow color reduction for smaller files; this can change colors but supports transparency. Resizing is optional and changes pixels even in lossless mode. JPEG output uses a white background.
Are images uploaded?
No. Your image is processed locally in your browser. The downloaded image may not retain original metadata.
Will the result be exactly 200 KB?
The result will be at or below the requested limit when compression succeeds, rather than exactly equal to it. Target sizes use 1 KB = 1,000 bytes and 1 MB = 1,000,000 bytes.
