Image Cropper
Crop images for avatars, covers, and screenshots. Choose a freeform, fixed-ratio, or circle crop, then rotate, flip, and download locally.
How to crop an image online
- Drop a JPEG, PNG, or WebP image into the upload area.
- Choose a crop ratio, move the selection, and adjust its size. Use Circle for an avatar with transparent corners.
- Select Crop image, inspect the preview, and download the result.
Crop photos for avatars, covers, and screenshots
Use a square or circle crop for a profile photo, 16:9 for a wide cover, or freeform to remove unwanted edges from a screenshot. Cropping removes parts of the image; it does not scale the selected area. To resize dimensions or choose an output format, use the Image Optimizer. To meet a strict upload limit after cropping, use the Image Compressor.
Frequently asked questions
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. Your image is decoded, cropped, and exported locally in your browser.
How do I crop an image to a fixed aspect ratio?
Choose a ratio such as 1:1 or 16:9, drag the crop area into position, and use any of the eight handles to resize it. You can also enter pixel coordinates and dimensions.
Can I crop a photo into a circle?
Yes. Choose Circle and export as PNG. The downloaded file has a square canvas with transparent corners around the circular image.
Does cropping reduce image quality?
Cropping keeps the selected pixels at their original dimensions without resizing them. PNG export avoids additional lossy compression; JPEG and WebP export may change pixels through compression. Metadata may not be preserved.
