Are my photos uploaded?
No. Background removal runs on your device. Your browser downloads the AI model and supporting files from IMG.LY, but your photo is not sent to their servers.
Why does the first run take longer?
The first run downloads the model and supporting files, which can take a minute or more on a slow connection. Cached resources can be reused until your browser clears them. Download progress is shown for each resource.
What can I upload and download?
Choose a JPEG, PNG or WebP image up to 25 MB and 25 megapixels, with neither side above 10,000 pixels. Download a PNG at the input dimensions, with a transparent background or your chosen fill color.
Will every background be removed perfectly?
Results depend on the photo. Hair, glass, fine details and low-contrast edges can be difficult. Inspect the preview and keep your original image.
